Day 1 - Melbourne to Ballarat.
9:00am. Depart Melbourne hotel, travel via Westgate bridge to Bacchus Marsh calling into a fruit stall, then onto Ballarat, made famous by the GOLD RUSH of 1851. At Sovereign Hill step back in time and relive the busy hustle and bustle of life during the 1850's. See the olden day craftsmen at work, try your luck panning for gold in the creek, you can usually find some gold specks, ride the horse drawn coach around the diggings, meet some of the miners at home in the cottages, children at school, a $50k. golden ingots being poured, just to mention some of the activities.
At the Ballarat Wildlife Park you will get a real hands-on experience meeting the Australian animals, feed free range kangaroos, emus, pat a koala, meet the wombats, see crocodiles and reptiles. The Ballarat Botanical Gardens and Lake Wendouree and historical architecture are all highlights on Ballarat.

After dinner you can visit the spectacular 'Sound and Light' show at Sovereign Hill featuring 'Blood on the Southern Cross' the story of the Eureka Rebellion by the goldminers in 1854, Australia's only civil uprising.

Day 2 - Great Ocean Road
Travel via the western plains and crater lakes district to the Port Campbell National park, see the spectacular 12 Apostles, London Bridge, Loch Ard Gorge, Grotto, Bay of Islands and many more breathtaking examples of nature at it's best. Return to Melbourne through the Otway National Park, following the Great Ocean Road's towering cliffs, winding your ways through the seaside resort towns of Apollo Bay and Lorne, the kangaroos on the Anglesea Golf Course.
Return to Melbourne hotel.
