Ballarat Goldrush Tour
Today you will be picked up approx. 9:00 am at your hotel or hostel, travel to Ballarat. We will step back in time to the 1850's and relive the exciting vibrant 'Goldrush Era' at Sovereign Hill, you can try your luck panning for gold in the creek, ride the Cobb & Co coach around the township, see the craftsmen at their trades, explore the underground mine, see the miners crushing the quartz in search for that elusive fortune, $50k. gold being melted and poured into ingots.
Option if time permits : The spectacular sound and light show 'Blood on the Southern Cross' tells the story of Australia's only civil uprising 'THE EUREKA REBELLION'. When the goldminers rebelled over unjust taxes and licences.
We visit the Ballarat Wildlife Park to meet the Australian animals, you can feed the kangaroos, emus and wombats, pat a koala, a real hands-on experience with the unique Australian animals.
Tour Ballarat's historic street-scapes and botanical gardens at Lake Wendouree.
Return to hotel.
